What is Kizomba?
Kizomba is a partner dance and music genre that originated in Angola in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Influenced by Semba and shaped by Caribbean, Zouk, and Konpa rhythms, Kizomba music is romantic, soulful, and rhythmically rich.
The dance is characterized by smooth, grounded movements and a deep sense of connection between partners. Leaders guide their partners through intricate steps, always staying attuned to the flow and feeling of the music.
Kizomba has grown into a global phenomenon, embraced by dancers around the world. From social dancing to international festivals, it continues to bring people together through music, movement, and culture.
