ZOUK CLASS

Zouk is back! The ever-popular dance style will continue to be offered on Thursdays at 7:30 pm, this time with a technique-based curriculum suitable for both beginners and intermediate dancers.

The class will be drop-in friendly and taught by our very own Hussam and Andrea. Also, keep an eye out for more Zouk social dancing opportunities starting in the new year. Join us for an exciting and enriching dance experience!

APRIL FOCUS

April series, we'll be exploring foundational elements of Brazilian Zouk head movement as well as building a repoitore of exercises that we can use to strengthen our balance and technique. Throughout the series, we'll be adding different components and concepts on top of body movements that pave the path to incorporating head movement technique anywhere!

Introducing Baila District Monthly Zouk Night including workshops, bootcamps (beginner friendly) and social dancing!

    • 5:00pm-6:00pm 1hr Workshop (Intermediate) Join the Brazilian Zouk workshop where we will be exploring foundations of Brazilian Zouk head movement and applying it to movements. This special workshop will be taught by Hussam and Andrea.

    • 6:00pm-7:30pm 1.5hr Beginner Bootcamp This bootcamp will be for absolute beginners or those with some experience already. Learn all the basics you need for the social dance floor with Hussam and Andrea.

    • 7:30pm-11:00pm Zouk Social (DJ Huss)

FAQ

Q: Do I need to know zouk to come to this class?

A: Not necessary. If you have some basics in partner dance fundamentals you will be able to take this class. Our instructors have created a curriculum that will appeal to both beginners and intermediate level dancers.

Q: I already know zouk, should I come to this class?

A: Yes, absolutely! The technique class works on both fundamental elements of zouk and applies it to intermediate level drills and patterns. It is a versatile class that is great for intermediate dancers as well.
