Latin Dance Kids Weekly Class

Sessions: Fall. Spring. Summer.

Weekly Classes: Tuesdays 4:30pm. First Class Trial Free (first enrollment month only).

Year-End Show Case Last Week of Class

What is Latin-Creative dance?
- Latin dances will be the main dance style taught to kids including salsa, bachata, merengue and cha-cha.
- There will be a mix of kids friendly songs in English and Spanish as well as kids appropriate latin style music.
- We will introduce latin movements associated with the music in a fun way.
- We will also be teaching easy Spanish terminologies related to dance such as "baila (dance), rapido/lento (fast/slow), derecha/izqueirda (left/right), arriba/abajo (up/down), feliz (happy) etc."

TIME:
Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm
- Showcase Last Week of Class

- Students present what they have learned to the rest of the class and their invited parents/adults.

CONTENT:

Example content
- Introduction to Latin music, movements and sounds
- Warm-up in circle time to learn about our bodies
- Active dance time to move and have fun!
- Practice a simple choreography for showcase
- Learning simple Spanish word related to dance
- Using hands, feet, sticks, and other 'instruments' to make music
- Circle time to share what we have learned each day

GOAL:

Our aim is to provide a safe, fun and comfortable space for children to dance, move their body, play with rhythm and learn some basic latin style movements.

SNACKS & WATER:
- Please pack a water bottle
- Report any allergies and other concerns to head teacher ahead of time.

DRESS CODE:

Wear comfortable cloth with long pants to allow floor movements.

Socks and closed toe shoes required.

Jazz shoes will be required in black. Example here.

Costumes for showcase will be required. Pricing ~$50-80. Instructors will communicate costume requirements closer to showcase.

Cost varies depending number of months per season.
