JAZZ 6-Week SERIES with Amy Bodnar

This series is designed for beginning to intermediate jazz dancers, with a special focus on dancers who train in heels and jazz funk and want to strengthen their technical foundation.
Over six weeks, dancers will dive deep into jazz fundamentals and learn how to apply technique directly into choreography. Class will focus on building strength, flexibility, balance, and control—key elements that support confident turns, smooth transitions, and intentional floor work.
This is a technique-driven series with purposeful movement, helping dancers develop body awareness while improving how they move through choreography across multiple styles.

BIOGRAPHY
Amy Bodnar is a Seattle-based jazz instructor, choreographer, and studio owner with over 20 years of dance experience. She began her training at age five in Las Vegas with the Silver Doll Dancers and has trained in jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip hop, cheer, and tap. Amy is a graduate of the University of San Diego, where she was a four-year member and Captain of the USD Dance Team, later serving as both Assistant Coach and Head Coach. She has performed with professional hip hop companies Funkanometry San Diego and PGN Dance Company, and has taught dance since age 16. Amy became Director of Dance Elite in 2015 and owner in 2017, and is passionate about building strong technique, confidence, and community through dance education.
